I need advice on staining a fence

I am staining a fence that was previously stained with a BEHR acrylic deep base brown stain. After power-washing the fence twice I am only getting some of the paint to come off and I figured that even though some of the old stuff was there I could use the same deep base to paint over it and since it is the same color it should match fine. Where the conundrum comes in is that the person that purchased the paint bought BEHR acrylic tint-base stain in the same color. Now in my mind I can either spend a ton of time sanding the old deep base off the fence and use the tint-base or correct me if I am wrong I can just go get the deep base and go over the old stain? My brain feels scrambled so if I was not clear on something let me know and I appreciate any input I can get.

Me too...

I think he might be asking if there will be a difference between two gallons of paint that are the same color, but mixed in different bases..?..

The only difference I can see is maybe one will cover better than the other.

Unless by 'tint base' he means transparent.
And 'deep base' means solid.
