I have 11 interior 6-panel doors to paint

Sorry for resurrecting an older thread, but I'm in the same boat as Dave88LX: total sprayer noob. This thread is an absolute goldmine of information.

Is this something I can do in my basement with proper ventilation? We're still getting cold weather here in Chicagoland, but I really want to get these doors painted. I'm getting tired of not having doorknobs.

Since I've seen it mentioned so often, I'm assuming I should invest in a Graco paint sprayer? I popped onto their website and thought maybe one of these would work for me.

Is your basement finished or partly finished? If the answer is yes then no don't do in your basement. The learning process can be messy. But you can use your basement for a couple of smaller projects to learn on till you feel confident. Then fashion a sort of paint booth in the basement. Just be careful what you spray such as alcohol based primer in a closed space with the furnace kicking on is a no-no. Same with anything oil based. This is because these are going to be in such a fine mist as to be dangerous.
As for the sprayer I don't have either so let me suggest Paint Talk and use the search feature. They won't let you ask questions because it is for pros, but you can still search. If my memory serves me correctly one of those sprayers has some really bad reviews and one has good ones. But I can't remember which has the good ones.
Hope this helps. Good luck and feel free to ask questions.

Thanks! My basement isn't finished, so I thought it would be a good spot to spray. I also found a set of four retractable spring posts that you can use to hold up tarp/plastic to make a sort of "spray booth." I'll probably pick that up, too.
