How to tape trim, windows, doors etc. before texturing

Does anyone have any tips or tricks for taping off trim, baseboards, windows, & doors b4 blowing texture? This process always takes me forever and I thought maybe someone would have some great ideas to save me some time.

Thanks so much!

Not going to find many fans of texturing anything here.
Hard if not imposable to clean and do a simple repair and not have it show, a royal pain to paint.
If your going to do it the best time is before the trim even goes up.
If it's already up no real tricks just lots of time.

Texture is normally applied prior to trimwork and doors being installed (as part of the drywall work phase).

You are asking about applying some kind of protective covering, that you do not want the texture to get on (in a "renovation" or "improvement" process).

- Moving this thread to the Painting section.

Why would you need to apply texture after the trim is up? Seems like a strange remodel to me. In any case, use lots of tape and have lots of patience, and cover everything!

perhaps she is remodeling and does not want to pay to have new trim and doors. good thing i am a professional texture man who has no problem masking such things off.

First you will probably want to get some masking tape and masking paper. it depends on what you want to do really. or a masking gun for the paper and tape. you can either tape two strips to the trim, or use paper. remember this saying by me .."if you dont want texture on it, cover it up" meaning, if it is 3 feet away from what you are spraying....cover it up. if you are not spraying behind you, make a tent. texture leaves dust all over creation. clean your airfilters from ac units when done
I have lots of advice if you just ask on different methods.
