How to paint over gray paneling
 

How do you paint over gray paneling on one wall in the living room.

Got a picture?
Is there a glossy finish on it?
At a minimum it needs to be degreased, lightly sanded, cleaned again, primed with a bonding primer then 2, coats of finish paint.
And you end up with what looks like painted paneling.

What's the look you really would like?

i would consider drywalling over it if it is the only paneled wall in the room

After completion of painting, finishing must be done. It makes it look better.
