How many Coats


I have painters here - we agree'd on doing two coats of paint but it seems they are only doing one coat but they are rolling it pretty heavy. Going from a white to a light tan/gold. They did 3 coats on the green and 4 on the red so they know what their doing it seems...

Should I make them do a second coat even though it looks fine? Any disadvantage of doing one coat over two over a long period of time?

You already said that you agreed with them to do two coats..

Make them live up to thier word.

Two coats are always better than one...

Yes
Two coats will hold up better and longer, keep the color better and longer, and provide protection better and longer

What does your contract say? If your contract says two coats, then get two coats.

Also, I know red is a tough color, but 4 coats? What kind of paint are these guys using?
