Well darn! I was looking forward to a party.:)

There are several painters around here that can answer your question but until they show up I can tell you that you could simply add sand to your paint. But not just any sand. I think silica sand is normally used.:)

Most of the major paint companies make an actual paint with sand texture already premixed. I don't think you can get the full range of colors like regular paint, but there is a pretty good selection of colors in the sand texture palette. Premixed is the way to go......it eliminates the guessing game of how much sand to mix into your paint.

Thank you gymschu and bud cline. I did not know about silica sand. Would home depot have it? Also, I will look into sand textured paint. I need a medium to light brown.

Home Depot should have silica sand, it is used as an abrasive for sandblasting but should be found with all the other bagged aggregates.:yes: Just keep track of how much sand you add to a gallon of paint so you can duplicate the recipe later.:)

sand texture , you can get it at lowe's in the paint dept. comes in a little box that says sand texture:huh:. cost under five bucks i think. it will tell you how much to mix in a gallon .if it were me i would use less than more ,you can always add but you cant take away once its in the paint :huh: i used this last month and it worked good
