How do Pros store their brushes??

hello

Does someone know how to store about 30 paintbrushes, all diferent sizes??
I know that 30 is more than the avarage DIY' er has at home but i got them for free from a retired painter.
I was thinking of a bucket with a lid, filling the bucket with 3/4 plastic tube wich would fit the handles.

My brushes that i use for work i keep on a peg board hooks in my van. The stock pile of brushes in my garage are in a rubbermaid bin.
Yes keep them in the covers too.

I hang mine once semi dry on nails in the garage in the original scaboards...

Couple of em are wrapped in aluminum foil to help them hold thier shape since my wife thought the scaboards were just packing and threw em away when she used the brushes...

But check with your retired paint pro guy... I'm sure he has some input after using brushes all those years.

Victor, we're paying abt $15 for decent brushes so they are well worth taking care of.
Clean 'em well, then put a wrap around 'em from paper supermarket bag and a bit of tape... hang 'em up off nails in your garage til your next project!

Just a thought on storing brushes between uses. If you are going to do some finishing, and then not use the brush for several days, you can put the brush into a ziplock bag and put it into your frezer, laid flat. This only works well if you are going to use the same finish next time. If you are using oil base paints this saves a lot of cleaning time and material.
