How do I tape and paint a 20ft wall with staircase?

Ok, I've seen the suggestions about building a plank as platform for the stairs and of course cosidered the extension pole for the roller brush but a plank seems dangerous and I'm a girl so I'd probably build it lopsided anyway and slide off, lol.

I have a straight staircase in my new house andit not only has a 20ft wall on one side, but on the other as well kind of like a hallway. First question is how can I get that high to tape the ceiling? My second question is if (after taped) I decide on no adjustable ladder or even with it and use the extension pole for my roller won't the pressure I need to put on the roller only buckle the pole if it's extended that long?

I've painted before and did a pretty darn amazing job if I must say so, but that was just a one story house.

Please help a girl out! Thanks!

Can't help you with the wall height without seeing it but you can ditch the tape and get a sturdier extension pole.

Add an 8" edger to the scenario too?

How do I tape and paint a 20ft wall with staircase?

I was hired by a friend to do just this part of her house, because i had the equipment and ability to do it. Might consider that.
Need an extension ladder, plank , probably a smaller regular ladder at the other end of the plank.
the extendable planks ( also called picks) are good for this.
Paid up insurance policy...

Ladder sliding on finished floors is a common hazard---prepare for that---

I also suggest hiring out that portion of the job. By the time you get what you need to do it, do it, and maybe get some unacceptable results, you'll spend more time and money doing it than you would pay someone. I've also done things like this myself for diy home painters.

I mentioned elsewhere I build platforms that are extremely stable but still capable of sliding a bit on polished floors. I was trying to develop something that would be adjustable as with these you have to build one specific to each staircase and they can be heavy. Anyhow, you can rest the base of either an extension or step ladder on these platforms.

A friend often justs cleats into studs in the wall for a temporary platform and patches the holes when done.

check this YOUTUBE out no matter what your going to be standing on a 2X6.then putting 2 of them in you can get a small step ladder to get to the ceiling.might consider getting help with somebody watching the painting as you move around
