high temp paint

Hi out there friends. I have a large number of Coleman 200A red lanterns that I want to restore to new condition. I have four of them powder coated and they were beautiful, however it turns out that the powder coat on the ventilator (the cap on top of the mantle) will not tolerate the heat generated and turns from bright red to black in just a few minutes. I discovered that the ventilator is porcelain coated and though I have searched the web endlessly I have not found any porcelain paint available. I have tried 900 degree caliper paint baked on and it still won't take the heat. HELP

It gets over900 degrees? How does the metal not melt?

As soon as I saw the thread title, before I even read your post, brake caliper paint came to mind. Since that's not working, the only other thing I can suggest is Dupli-Color High Heat paint with ceramic. You should be able to find the rattle cans at your local auto parts store or wherever you got the caliper paint you already tried.

metal does not melt at 900 degrees. Aluminum foil might but not metal.
