Help on Staining my wood deck

Hello,
I am planning to seal and stain my cedar deck. I power washed it with plain water and sanded it, then I used a leaf blower to remove the dust. I am thinking of using a semi-transparent sealer/stain. Is there a particularly good product to use? What steps should I take before or after applying the stain? I plan to use a roller for all applications, is there a special type I should use?

Thanks for the help in advance.

I've used a number of them in a professional capacity, and my preference is still Cabots or Sikkens

The Cabots is a little less money, more readily available, and has great instructions so I'd recommend them off-hand

You can check out the website for more info

deck stain advice

There's an excellent advice column on staining cedar at www.askthebuilder.com written by Tim Carter.

Depends on where you live. Stains are very different based on what types of government regulations are in place.
