Help-Painting my cinder block wall


Hi Im new to this. but I would love to paint my ugly grey cinder block retaining wall in my backyard.. Its about 4 ft tall, and I just got the idea of maybe painting it to give my backyard a better look.. Has anyone done this and any ideas or pictures

Help-Painting my cinder block wall


Instead of paint I use Dri Lok.
It's white and tends to not peel off like paint will outside.
You could also Parge it. Do A Google search on it. Simple to do.

Prime with Block Filler and apply 2 100% acrylic topcoats, done.

I believe you can get this at Sherwin Williams.

Help-Painting my cinder block wall


Chrisn hit the nail, a paint will dramatically change the apperance. A little more than a retaining wall but, here is my new home (to me) of 2 years now. Though it looks like a prebuilt it was actually stick built on site. Anyway last year and 3 days of painting viola..the change i was looking for. I power washed the block and the next weekend i primed it with SW loxon, tinted half tint. Next day started 2 top coats, pretty sure it was SW resilience exterior. I was not to hard but took 3 days for all 3 coats.
