Help needed with repainting older kitchen

 I'm going to repaint my kitchen and i've picked out paint that co-ordinates three colors. I have wood trim, step railing and doors that have recessed design, and also cabinets that need to be repainted also. If I have the walls one color, how would I complete the change with the doors, trim and railings to pull it all together???

How old is old? Any chance of lead in the old paint?

No chance. The room was painted 2 years ago before moving in. Although the landlord painted the kitchen with flat paint.

Sorry I guess I'm just not clear what the question is. Are we talking about color schemes or are you asking about how to mask off between colors?
