Hand Held Sprayer

The little Wagner, Ryobi and other hand held airless cup sprayers have always been a problem for me. Seems like they work well for a short period and then.....well, then they don't. (I do clean them well, etc.)

Anyone tried the new Graco TrueCoat cup gun? It's a piston gun, and three times the price of the others, but if it works as claimed it's well worth it IMO. I'm just a DIY painter, but the few times I've had a Graco available to use I've really liked them.

Haven't found any online reviews yet; I'd appreciate any feedback.

Thanks...

Gary

my friend tom owns a local paint business and LOVES that graco handheld. i know the truecoat plus is the one you want since it has the bigger motor. for $250 it's a good way to quit buyng $80 sprayers yearly. the graco is also serviceable if anything breaks. most sherwin williams will sell parts for one.

i'm buying one myself before next summer

Graco came up with a great concept, but be forewarned, Graco has two models. One can only use a 15 tip (or 17-not sure) and costs around $389 and has limited service life, the other can use interchangeable tips but costs around $450. Between you and me Graco came out with this gun at the wrong time when the industry is almost at a stand still. You might get a better price next season if the market doesn’t improve.

those are the cordless models. even then you can probably price shop. for $199 and $249 they have electric models of the same. the $249 is the good one that has the stronger delivery system.

I think if you Google the Graco TrueCoat, you'll see the battery model is what comes up. Those prices are the prices offered in my area. I'm not familiar with the electric models.

Isn't that interesting? I didn't know about the electric model. I would consider buying one at that price. They're not promoting it here in Michigan. As for the battery model Sherwin-Williams is firm on the $450 price.
Thanks,
Steve
