Graco Paint Tip

I was watching a video about spraying interior trim with a Graco airless sprayer. The guy recommended the use of a RAC X 210/310 tip. I cant tell if that tip will fit into the standard tip guard? It also looks like that particular tip isn't sold at Lowes/HD. Will this tip make a significant difference? If so, where should I go to purchase it and do I also need a new tip guard? Thanks in advance.

No you don't need a new tip guard.
Yes the tip will make a large difference.
SW will have the tip or can order it. While you are at SW I would also look at the new Titan spray tips that are 2 sizes on one. One you can get say an 8" fan then turn it and get a 3 " fan. Just be aware of the over spray connected to air less spraying.

ToolSeeker,

I appreciate the reply. Ill stop by SW and see if I can get it ordered. Thinks for the recommendation on the Titan tip. That would be pretty convenient to be able to switch between two fan sizes that quickly.

Graco Paint Tip

The Graco Rac X tips only fit a Graco Rac X guard, as the diameter of those tips are slightly larger than other Graco tips. You don't need to use a Rac X tip if you don't have that guard. The Titan tips that have been mentioned are Titan Tr2. Titan sent me a few of them when they first came out. They are decent and good for production, where you may want to change between 2 tip sizes. Sherwin Williams sells both Graco and Titan tips, guards and accessories.

RAC X Tips are unique to their housing. If I remember correctly, they are best suited for large work where a larger fan would be desireable, such as a tilt-up. I haven;t sold one in over 4 years, so maybe something has changed...

I really like the new Titan tips , you get a broad fan for the body but when you get in close to say the soffit or a window you can flip it to a small fan say 3" and have better control. I guess I misread the part about the RAC X tip sorry.

the 210/310 rac X's you are referring too are fine finish tips. atomized twice where regular tip sizes ending in odd numbers are only atomized once. to use these tips you needa blue graco tip guard, or else use a titan synergy fine finish tip (purple). . .the titan synergy will fit the graco orange tip guards or all titan tip guards. consult a paint store with questions
