fresh sheetrock, prime?

i have a lot of trim work to do, really i want to rent a sprayer and prime everything when finished, trim and all after its all caulked, its a good size room. is this a bad idea? im thinking really there should eb a coat of primer befor ei put anything on and do any caulking but i just cant make up my mind. im sure either way will work, but whould be the best way?

Trim is typically the last step, after painting is finished. Are you asking whether you can pu the trim up and then prime everything? It's a lot easier to paint the trim or stain it, then put it up. Less taping and a lot less frustrating.

Not sure it's worth it to rent a sprayer just to prime one room
And typically, I'd use a different primer for raw wood then for new drywall

If it's pre-primed trim, I can't see why you couldn't put it up and not matter if it gets hit with the drywall primer

The caulk should go up after the primer though
It doesn't do as well on bare drywall/wood

yeah i was thinking caulk would be best if applied to primer and not joint compuond and bare drywall. doest matter to me about taping or cutting in the trim as ive painted plenty rooms that had existing trim.
