Flat Ceiling Paint

We just started painting our ceilings with a flat latex paint. We have a heavy orange peel on the Sheetrock. So I have a couple of questions.
1. I am using a roller with 1-1/4" nap. Other than that and globing paint onto the ceiling, is there anything you can recommend to get a good coverage with the texture?
2. Will a flat paint flash? I know eggshell will, but will flat paint?

Other than those questions any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.

Some paints sold as ceiling paints are the worst of the worst.
If you paid 11.99 for it you have one. That's my first thought.
A 1 1/4 " roller nap is huge. Hope you're wearing a wet suit. 1/2 or at most a 3/4 will do any orange peel.
Yes a flat will flash. I recommend not cutting in first with the very first coat to hit new texture. Roll really close , cut second. It will probably take 2 coats so on the second you could cut first. Otherwise the cut will show thorough different no matter how many coats after.
Ceilings are much harder than one would think.

I guess I should include that the walls are not painted so we are really not doing any cutting. We are on the edges but it will be covered by crown. No I'm not wearing a suit, but I've been pretty covered in paint. The paint is Valspar and it's the upper grade. Not sure if that matters. Basically we've put two coats on and probably used more paint than necessary because of the texture. What about foam rollers? Would those help any?

Foam would not be good for this.
My go to cover is a wooster 1/2 " super fab. Since you're using Valspar I assume Lowe's , And I don't know what they carry. A fairly dense cover, that is not cheap and will leave fuzzies everywhere is what you need.
