Fixing a sink - paint removed from the sink

I did something really stupid.... I was taking some paint off a chest and had the can of paint remover in the bathroom on the sink vanity .... I had no idea how potent this stuff was.... well, some of it dribbled down the sink... I had some errands to do and when I came back I was aghast to find that it had taken some of the paint right off the sink near the drain and on a spot further up the sink... it is a white sink.... is there any way of fixing this ( like sanding it and re-painting it with a special paint ) or will I have to have the plumber re-place the vanity top ???

Is this a porcelain sink? If it is, you can use a porcelain touch-up kit sold at most hardware or paint stores. It is a special epoxy that is used for when you knick or scratch a sink/tub/appliance.

What is the vanity made of? Is it painted? or porcelain/ceramic?
