Filling cracks between wall and baseboard

I have tried several times to fill the crack between the wall and baseboard in several places. It looks great for a while and then it shrinks and cracks. How can I permanently correct this problem.

Make sure the baseboard is nailed good with very little movement. The best caulk in the world will still crack if there iss too much movement. Make sure you use a quality caulk. Dap is no longer quality in my opinion.

Not only do you want to make sure the trim is secure to the wall, make sure you use a good flexible caulk that can expand and move with the wall.

Don't forget to make sure it is paintable caulking.

Use caulk with a blend of acrylic and silicone, paintable, the acrylic will allow for some movement.
