Faux Fun?

I'm thinking of "fauxing" the walls of the cabin... (I don't find much time for art anymore and I figure it might conceal any less than perfect spots I am anticipating in our taping job).

I have never done it before and there are so many different techniques that I am a bit befuddled. DH is hesitant cause he does not want physical texture on the wall in case we decide we eventually want "plain walls". I say "who wants plain!"

I'm gonna play with it and try some sponging. I figure that won't add too much texture. Has anyone tried it?

I'm thinking lighter shade over slightly darker shade on one wall and slightly darker shade over lighter shade on another... DH just shakes his head...
