Farrell Calhoun Paint

Farrell Calhoun is a paint company out of Memphis and I hear ads for them on the radio all the time here (Jackson, MS). I'm painting one room, nothing big, just a little 12x13 guest room, and I have been racking my brain on which paint to get. FC claims to be great, but, alas, I cannot find any real reviews of them online since they are such a small, regional company. I'm hoping someone here has a bit of first hand experience. Other than their website, the guy at the store (only spoke to him on the phone) says that their top of the line 100% acrylic is about 28 dollars a gallon. I'm staying away from Valspar, Behr, and BM, but I am strongly considering FC, SW, and PL. Anyway, just thought I would check!

I don't have any experience with that particular brand of paint
But my experience with other regional brands would lend me to expect good results from them
Regional brand paints have the local/specific environment targeting that "National Brands" can't afford to exploit
There are (specific) cases where I'd highly recommend them
I'd certainly give these people a try

Worse Case:
Your project is not quite up to specs
-but you helped your neighbor or cousin keep their job

More Likely:
The local manufacturer knows your specific needs (sometimes very region specific) and desires, and provides the appropriate product at a reasonable price
...And your project results are beyond what a "national brand" paint manufacturer could provide

That is what they are generally touting on the radio. It makes good sense to me, but you just never know. Oh well, I do think that I will go with them and just see. Like I said, it is one room. We will probably have the whole house redone by a pro (the last owner had it done before we bought it, but it was some ultra cheapo paint and they did a poor job) in a couple of years. This is just a stop gap for the time being.
