Exterior spackle

Did a Google search on exterior spackle, very confuseing.

I replaced some soffit 3/8 plywood. The soffit is flat, horizonal out of the weather.

Lots of holes from stapler and a couple small uneven spots where boards meet.

Can I use joint compound? I've got lot's of joint compound and soft sand.

. the reason you cant is because it is for interior.in other words i don't know.probably has to do with moisture . but what i do know is i like to use ready patch its like a spackle on steroids it can be used exterior.home creepo sells it and some pro paint stores sell it. one small can about 5 bucks should do it.

I like this stuff. you only mix what you need, and the rest will last forever (as far as I can tell...)

Exterior spackle

Most spackles are made for interior OR exterior use.
