Exterior Paint Protection?

Hello,

I just painted my shutters with Behr exterior paint dark maroon. Is there any additional protection that I can put on to ensure that the paint won't drip when it's raining? Would hate to see red drip marks against my white vinyl siding.

Thanks in advance.

I have no idea but here is a response I can guarantee you'll get...... "Paint over it with a good quality paint that doesn't come for a big box store", or something along those lines.

Exterior Paint Protection?

Most Pro painters do not like Behr paint
It would be nice if they simply state that since many new people do not know this
It would save confusion & time since Mods don't have to step in, explain & remove pointless posts

I myself did a side by side test with Behr VS Glidden ($12 a gallon)
Same brush, same wall
The Glidden went on great...Behr sucked
I will no longer buy Behr

As far as rain you should not paint anything before a rain storm or when there will be a cold night (IMO) or possible dew/frost

I am not a painter by trade
But my last house I used all Behr on the exterior
I never had any problem with paint running after it was fully dry

Is the paint running now ?
Did you sand & prime 1st ?
Did the paint fully dry ?

That is not a characteristic of paint. Paint dries and cures by physical and chemical processes. Once dry, it does not get wet again.

My neighbor has brown shutters and you can clearly see some drippage against her siding. Maybe it's rust. I don't know.

You could try a coat of urethane or clear lacquer if you want to be completely unreasonable about it.

That was posted for any number of reasons.First off there is no reason what so ever for ANY paint to be dripping after it has dried, Second, you are buying some of the wost and cheapest paint on the market by shopping at Lowe's and Home Depot. Third, I assumed you must be joking, Fourth, use the search button for Behr paint and read already posted comments.
