We finally got the new windows in and then the new wood siding up and then I had to go out of town for a few weeks. We now have mold on the bare wood siding. I know that bleach does not kill mold on wood as it just kills the exterior spores. What are my options here? Do I just bleach and then use an exterior primer and paint or do I have to do some other prep work before painting. There is no mold on the other painted areas, I just think its on the new wood.

Krud Kutter kills mold. Use it diluted in a garden sprayer. Spray it on the wood an let it marinate for 10 minutes or so. Then using a stiff scrub brush on an extension pole, scrub off the mold. Rinse with water and allow to dry thoroughly. Prime and paint.
I doubt that after only a few weeks there is anything more than surface mold. Bleach will kill mold as deep as the bleach can penetrate. If you have to scrub with a brush after Krud Kutter, what are you doing, beating it to death? Bleach poisons it on contact, without the beating.
