exterior latex stain
any suggestions on removing exterior latex from my log cabin?

I am assuming someone applied an acrylic solid or semi-solid stain over the logs or something? Ouch. If it was quality stain you have a real task ahead of you.

I guess pray they used cheap box store stuff over non-prepped and oily logs. Hopefully most will come off when you powerwash. An infrared stripper, scraper and brush might get most off but given the rough surface of the logs it will be a challenge to get it all.

If we are just talking about some drips that hit the logs when painting trim or something? Try any of the latex remover products---Oops, GoofOff, KrudKutter---and see how that goes.

perma-chinck was applied about seven years ago and i was hoping to find a chemical to strip the stain off so it could be refinished.i contacted a company about doing the ends of the house only and they gave me a price of 7,500.00 for both ends about 1200 sq ft. it would be good to find something to spray on and wash off !!

If its a latex stain i would use Peel Away Smart Strip, nylon brush and pressure washer using low pressure. If its an oil base use a sodium hydroxide based stripper and pressure wash using low pressure followed by citralic acid to netralize.
