Exterior House painting

It is 55 degrees and cloudy, is it a good day to paint the exterior of a house with latex paint.

you will need to check the product data for the limitations for your paint. most will reqire 55 degrees and rising with a surface temp at least 5 degrees above the dew point temp.

It's fine if the forecast will be consistent for the next few days. You don't want to apply paint today at 55 degrees and then have the next 3 or 4 days be cold/wet with temps in the 30's. I've gambled and won, and I've gambled and lost.........meaning: it's better to be safe than sorry.

A lot of paints today go to 35, if you want to paint in 35 degrees. I don't. Drying times are extended the lower the temp.

It's all about the surface temps and the curing process of the paint. If 50 degrees outside surface temp is between 40-45. A very simple rule, take a piece of tape and stick it to the cold surface. If it doesn't stick good don't paint. Also try to get summer projects done in the summer and quit putting them off. Just a thought.
