Ext Paint for Interior Application?

I have yet to paint this cabin as I've had no time but I plan to in the next month or so. I've done a little research and all I can come up with is exterior paint for the walls would be the best route BUT I'm concerned about chemicals that exterior paint may have that interior paint does not? Is it safe for interiors? If I go with exterior paint on walls do I use oil or latex primer? The last thing I want is for the walls to flake.

Thanks

Paolo

I meant that in regards to a SAFE exterior paint IF there was such a thing.

I will most likely go with an Oil Primer and just use regular latex inerior paint.

This might be a dumb question but does the paint finish (glossy, semi, etc.) have any effect on the elasticity of the paint?

I really appreciate all the help this forum has given!

chris knows his paint....
as to your floor problem, do whatever to the floor and simply use area rugs scattered. they can be taken out and beaten or shaken, and you can take them with you for cleaning in between seasons of use.

SAFE is all relative, it is just that no paint co will recommend any of their exterior products on the interior, they MUST know something!

Thanks Chris ... Oil Primer and latex finish is the answer. For the floors can I do the same or is there something else you would recommend?

Thanks

Glossy is a little less flexible, but the difference is small. And yes, use interior paint for the inside, and exterior paint for the outside. Exterior paint will not last longer than interior paint on an interior application.
