experience with Cedar Shield..?
I've been looking with lots of interest at references to Cedar Shield. I live in Southeast Alaska with really high rainfall so I have endless places to use it. It is super expensive so I'd love to know what others think of it before I jump in. For example, has anyone used it on "treated" wood (it's not as durable or effective as in the past due to toxicity..so my "treated" wood is of recent wimpy vintage) and I wonder if this prior application will interfere with the effectiveness of a Cedar Shield application. Would it need two coats? I believe it's very effective on end grain of new bare wood..really pulls it in along the grain..but what about the face of moisture treated wood? And anything else at all anyone who has used Cedar Shield thinks about the product..!
