Duct tape residue on porous brick paver tiles

I taped some tarp down on my brick paver deck...initially I used masking tape but they don't stay so I got some GORILLA BLACK TAPE which says it sticks to rough and uneven surface...which it DID.

During that time I did some priming, some painting, some stucco work, it rain some too.

Now comes time to take everything off, as I peeled off the Gorilla tape, it leaves a footprint.

I have so far tried mineral spirit, WD-40, charcoal lighter fluid, and GOOF OFF with no luck.

Any ideas?

Try a pressure washer miamicuse. Being in florida, I'm sure you or a neighbor has one lying around. Lol.

I've used that gorilla tape as well and it is some good tough stuff. Only problem is it does leave residue behind.

Hope you figure out how to get it off. Let us know what worked for you. Thanks.

I would first try more gorilla tape to see if new tape will pick up the residue from the old. I find aluminum HVAC tape works very well for this too.

ChuckF has the best way that I have found.

Wrap a piece of the original tape (new) around your fingers with the adhesive out, then gradually dab the residue with this wrapped fingers, the residue will pill up and stick to the tape.

After a few pills are on your tape, turn it around to a clean side, dab more, and continue with new tape after you have removed all your taped fingers will hold.

Repeat , repeat, as many times as it takes.

Sometimes a tedious chore, but it works well.
