Drywall and Paint - DIY Chatroom

Okay so we recently had our landlord replace two walls in our bathroom including the entire tub unit. Anyway, he put up the new drywall and filled in the creveses and (some) of the screw holes then painted a wonderful robins egg blue. Now the paint is dripping off the ceiling and running down the walls. What is the best way to remedy this? My dad said Kilz oil based primer to seal everything and my mother wants to sand.

So if anyone has any experience in this that would be great. As you can probably tell I am new to home fix-its but I'm willing to try anything.

The drywall needs to be primed

You will first need to sand off the drip marks from the landlord's crappy paint job. Next, scuff sand (lightly sand) both walls to rough them up a bit. Apply a latex drywall primer. Then apply a good quality latex topcoat. The landlord probably made a couple of mistakes.
1. did not prime, new drywall should always be primed whether it's with an actual drywall primer or whether with a self priming paint
2. used a junky brand of paint (behr) hence the running and dripping problem

Thank you so much. I'm hopeing to make it a weekend project (as in this weekend...) and hopefully get it done in a day or two. So if you don't mind me asking another question, what IS a good quailty paint?

use Benjamin Moore paints

Benjamin Moore paints are very good as are Sherwin Williams paints. I would suggest going with an eg-shell or satin finish, unless you plan on really scrubbing your walls down often. Then I would suggest a semi-gloss finish.
