Drywall Joint Tape

I have two areas at an outside facing interior wall where dry wall joint tape is coming loose. It is dry, and no signs of moisture intrusion is present. I'm looking for a fix. Do I have to remove old tape and reinstall new joint compound/tape, or reseal the lifting joint tape somehow and repaint? Happy New Year and Thank You. Inspector P.

Yep---cut it out and re do it---original taper may have squished out to much mud and the paper just cane loose---lifting and gluing seldom works--better to do the right fix before you paint--

One small spot or the whole strip?
The main reason tape fails is someone wiped to hard when bedding the tape and pushed out all the mud under the tape so there's nothing to keep it stuck.

There are a couple of options, depending on the nature of the failure, up to complete tear out and replace, but that's a lot of work and maybe unnecessary. If you post a pic it would be helpful.

What twisted irony and fresh hell is this, I'm requesting a pic and Joecaption isn't.

Thanks you guys. I agree with the first reply really. It is approximately six vertical inches between a window and ceiling and I was hoping for a miracle method. LOL I will remove old tape, remud, tape and paint. Thanks again. Inspector P.
