door dry time?

Using SW pro classic trim and have resigned myself to taking the doors down to paint. With 4 dogs I just know one of them will get knocked closed if I try to paint them hung.

How long do they have to dry before they get rehung - I know that with different weather it may take different times based on where you are at but roughly what are we looking at a couple of days, a week....full 30 days for cure? How long would you wait?

A day or two is usually enough if your kinda gentle hanging them. Just make sure your hands are clean as any finger grease won't wipe off a un cured finish too well.

Touching the doors mainly on the knob hole and the hinges helps too.

Taking them off is a good move. IMO they are easier to paint. I like to take the hinges totally off rather than pulling the pins. No masking/cutting around the hinges at all.
