How do I paint almost black barn board a light colour?

Informatiom might be helpful. Other wise open a can of primer, prime and paint.

I recommend using a roller with an extension pole on it.

also, a brush!

I'm not a painter but I have built some cabinets out of the barn wood. I would seal the dickens out of it with something like a sand and seal before painting unless you are spraying. If not your brush or roller will pull the old wood particles off and ruin the brushes/rollers and contaminate the paint.
