Copper paint look ???

Hi all,
We have a hood liner (for kitchen exhaust) that I want to change in appearance. It currently has a silver / stainless steel look but is not real stainless steel. Is there a procedure and product that I can use to give it a realistic copper look ? I have noticed the typical rustoleum type spray paints in copper, but I am not certain how well they will look. THANKS

If you want it real copper. I would buy copper leaf at your local art store.

You will need to apply an adhesive for it to stick too but once applied you can burnish and polish it however you want. Price is known by watching the metals section in the New York Times or other paper. Copper foil is real metal.

A real paint store will have metallic copper paint. It might suit your needs. I would spend the time with the copper leaf though. It will take you some time. You should clear coat you work if you want it to look like fresh copper for ever.

Have you looked at Modern Masters metallic paints? I think that would work well for you in this case.
