Concrete paint or stain

Hi All,

I have a small concrete floor area in my basement that i was thnking about staining or painting as part of my basement finishing project. Does anyone have any experience with staining or painting conrete floors? I would prefere to stain it and go for that faux stone look. I have also considered just painting it a complimentary color to the walls. Is staining a releatively easy do it yourself project? Any advice would be very helpfull!!!!

Thanks!!

Concrete paint or stain

I don't have a ton of advice, but if you're staining your concrete will need it to be clean/ready for it, if it's old you may need to do an acid wash/etch, clean up all the acid, then stain it.

More info is here

there's some good (basic) info there, and cool pics of some good acid staining.

Cool

Concrete paint or stain

Yeah, go for the stain. It's a really nice touch that doesn't require rocket science. And it lasts.
