clear poly???

Hi all,
I recently baught a new home and have been doing some major renovations. My wife was in charge of the kitchen cabinets and worked her butt off sanding, priming, sanding, and painting. She wanted a high gloss finish so she then applied a coat of poly. When she woke up in the morning all the white paint had yellowed and the light green she used darkened as well. She about broke into tears...
I was wondering if anyone knew if there is a polyurethane that dries clear? Or if there is an alternative product that would provide the same results as poly without the yellowing?
Thanks in advance

Sorry to hear about your plight. I'm old school and believe that only oilbased paints should be put over wood. IMHO latex covers, oils bind.
