I'm prepping for paint this weekend. In the past I've washed walls with water prior to painting. No TSP or anything. I have to use something to clean the kitchen ceiling though. It's worse than I thought. The grease isn't visible but I can feel it on the paint. I was going to use TSP but someone suggested using Palmolive ultra oxy plus dish liquid because it's phosphate free and does just as good a job without having to worry about rinsing it real good. I was told TSP is not totally rinsed off the surface it can cause adhesion problems down the road. Anyone ever use dish liquid to wash walls before paint?? thanks
You'd have to rinse that for sure....a lot
