Cleaning knotty pine t/g boards
I have had a bear rug hanging on a knotty pine wall for 4 years. After taking the rug down the wall is lighter where the rug was hanging. How does one make the wall look the same again? The wall was sealed with varnish.

Cleaning knotty pine t/g boards
Hi Again folks,
I have a good question for you'all. A long time ago "Sears" came out with a thing called exterior TEXTURE COATING that was suppose to last forever on your house. My house is from 1957 and it has that coating on it. It starting to peel from the bottom up. I plan on painting this house sometime soon, but I need to fix this peeling problem. Anyone out there know something about how to repair this texture coating?, or what can I use to replace the repair area after I peel the loose chips....Any help will be greatlly appreciated! thanks tonyh.. If you paint over this with conventional paint you will end up with some areas being textured and some not. Go to your local paint store and ask the clerk about exterior texture additive. You will have to fiddle with the proportions a little but if the area is minimil you should end up with a pretty good match. You may need a little trial and error. Experiment with a few different additives. There are a lot of different products from foam to sand. |
