Clark Kensington Paint

A very good friend of of mine is encouraging me to try Clark Kensington interior paint from his Ace Hardware store. I don't mind trying out on something, but I'm curious if anyone has used this brand? He said the semi gloss has a top rating. I have never heard of it before. I live in NE Ohio.

Yes I have used it and liked it. Might want to hurry though a lot of the Ace stores are changing to Valspar.
Where in NE Ohio I'm from youngstown, East Liverpool area.

Thanks for the reply Toolseeker. I live in Poland, and my friend's Ace Hardware just opened in New Middletown, which is just a few miles from me. The store is carrying two lines of Valspar, but he is suggesting the Clark Kensington. I would like to give him the business.

So, I'm in the Youngstown area, but I often go through East Liverpool to fish the Ohio River.

To be honest I would use the C&K over the Valspar.

I agree but I've only used the valspar paint they sell at Lowes, haven't tried the better lines they sell at Ace yet.

Hiya Ed…

As of a year ago January, Valspar started making Clark & Kensington Paints…and all Ace Branded Paint products. Which is kinda the reason so many Ace stores are converting to the Valspar product line from Ben Moore…

…and just as an FYI, there never was any such manufacturer as "Clark & Kensington" - prior to Valspar's involvement, C&K was made by Ace Paints (now owned by Valspar). The name Clark & Kensington came from the intersection where the Ace Corporate Offices are (at Kennsington Court and Clark Street).

I don't know if the quality levels will be the same between what Ace offers versus that of what Lowes offers, but years ago, Valspar made a pretty good product.

Good luck with the C&K product…I know this post didn't really answer any questions but I couldn't resist playing a little Paint Industry Trivial Pursuit.
