chair moulding

I have chair rail that is rounded at the ends...doesnt go all the way to the end of the walls. It stops about 2 inches from the end of the walls. How do I paint so that this doesnt stand out?

You paint the exposed ends of the chair rail the same color as the rest of the chair rail.

I bet she means where to divide the 2 different colors, above and below.
What I do is run a straight line of the top color off the top of the chair rail and run the bottom up to meet it

I would split the color, top half way down, bottom half way up. Balance.
