ceiling


Has any body painted rigid foam board or foil faced foam board insulation? I am going to put it up for a ceiling but dint want to look at yellow or foil faced insulation. I was thinking foil faced because of the vapor barrier and rigidity.

That would not be considered a proper substrate for painting
(in other words: we've veered well into the "lipstick on a pig" lane of the painting for home improvement highway with this one)
Not that it can't be done, but...

We have not done this. WHY? you may ask. Because this stuff is not legal to be left exposed. You must cover with drywall... Building and fire codes for those who care.

Not to mention that it will be quite unsightly and the paint can wreak havoc on the Styrofoam.
