Can you remove gel stain from a fibreglass door after 8 days or longer?

We have a fibreglass door with sidelites. One sidelite was stained with a oak gel stain and later a dark walnut gel stain was applied to prestained sidelite and to unstained sidelite. We would like to remove the stain on the double stained sidelite is this possible and if so what do we use?

I have painted/stained for over 30 years & I never had to do this. I would guess that it would be extremely difficult after 8 days of dry time. I'm thinking that any type of thinner/solvent that you would have to use on this door would likely do some damage to the door. Hopefully, you get some other responses from those who may have tried this before.

Has the gel stain been sealed? Lacquer thinner will remove the gel stain and if you have sealed the gel stain a stripper such as peel away will be needed. It will take a little work and some scrubbing, but can be done.

You do have to be careful, but it will remove it. Put a little on a rag and wipe.

First question- why?
And if it isn't right, it would be much easier to paint a new base coat and start over.
