I bought painters caulk with no silicone in it. Applied it around the window frame, drywall corners, ... Let it dry of at least a day and then paint with water based latex paint. In few hours it will start to show up cracks along the caulked area (and nowhere else).
I know that there a couple of recommendation when you caulking:
- let it dry
- not apply 1/2 inch wide
- not during cold weather
I did all as suggested multiple times in different rooms with different caulks (all says printable on them), and different water based paints. All cracks. The only thing that works - Oil based paint. Which I don't want to use.
I talked to people in Lewis and other contractors and nobody heard of the problem. Please help I'm out of ideas....
