cabinet question

a few months ago I decided to paint my cabinets black. I used valspar signature colors interior semi gloss finish 100% acrylic latex. the problems is the paint is still kind of tacky scratches easy and dust sticks to it like crazy and it really shows being black. i wanted to know if there is some type of clearcoat or something to make it harder more glossy and easier to clean

I hate to tell you this but we call that stuff valscar because of this very problem. I've seen valspar that stayed tacky for a year until we took it off. No real way to chemically force cure it that I know of.

Putting more over a tacky paint won't usually solve anything. I'm hoping someone else will pop on here with a genius solution because the only thing I know to do if it bugs you the way it is is to remove it and start over.

If you still want black, Ben Moore, Satin Inpervo cannot be beat.
