A/C question about paintint trim
If I'm painting interior trim with oil based paint and I want it to dry as fast as possible, is it better to turn the A/C off and let the house heat up or run the A/C and keep the humidity down? Assume 95 degrees ambient outdoor temperature and 80% relative humidity.
BTW.... I'm a chemical engineer and I think about piddly little crap like this all day long. Thanks, Marty in Longview, TX |
The fastest and easiest way I've found to dry paint around here is to simply open windows and have fans blowing in the rooms.
If you want to speed up the dry time with oil base paint, next time add Japan Dryer - Home Depot sells it. |

Go with the a/c for lowering the humidity rather than the heat w/high humidity |
I've run into the same question. When possible, I turn on the ac, but leave windows cracked.

I agree turn on the AC and set up some fans.
