Brush marks when painting roof HELP

I am in the middle of painting my roof,Ive just put on a primer as I have galvanized iron roof and about to apply two top coats. The problem is, when Im cutting in at the edges with a brush you can see brush marks,is there a certain way to paint using a brush to minimize this effect or should I use another tool or would a more expensive brush erradicate this problem?...The brush I have at the moment is a mid-range. Thanks in advance!

Try using a poly brush to smoothen out at the edges.

Add penetrol to oil paint or floetrol to latex paint to get a better flow. A better quality brush always helps. Better paint helps also. And on a roof? your edge may be drying to fast. Using a retarder in the paint may help that. A wet edge always is best in allowing a smooth finish.

Do you see brush marks or see through the paint because you are not getting it on heavy enough? If you are just seeing through the paint, put on a second coat.

The easiest way to paint a roof is with a roller on a long handle. The rollers are made of plastic foam and are shaped to fit two or three corrugations. Those moulded in one piece stand up to the work better than the rollers composed of sections. There are also wire brushes for cleaning off rust and old paint that fit the corrugations. :)
