Blotchy ceiling using Glidden tinted ceiling paint
I have spent the past week trying to eliminate a blotchy ceiling without success. The ceiling is a very large area that includes the foyer, living room, and dining room (one continuous surface). I did not prime the ceiling, as I had painted it several years ago without a primer and had very good results.
I am using Glidden tinted ceiling paint (for the first time) and although it looks good initially, I have applied several coats and the blotchiness continues. I hope to avoid the agony of applying a primer and probably a different brand of paint (most likely Behr) but I may be out of luck.
I have been using a 3/8" nap on the roller and I wondered if a different length nap might work better? Any tips?
If it is just a couple spots, then buy a can of spray Bin and hit those spots. Once those spots dry, which will be pretty quick you can paint. If you used a flat paint then you can probably just paint the primed spots. Flat paint lays down and blend really well. DON'T get Behr paint. That will be jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire.
