Black color suggestion for Cabinet paint.

Wondering if anyone can recommend a mix or a specific shade for a true black for cabinet paint. I'm using the Ace Cabinet, Door, and Trim paint. I started with "Ace of Spades" from their color wall, but when I applied it, it came out a lot lighter than the paint chip and is more of a dark charcoal color.

hey tigereye, in order to get the truest black make sure you don't get a color that just contains "Lamp Black" as a colorant. This colorant is just a super dark blue, and so it can show up on surfaces as a bluish grey to bluish black color. A good choice, and one that been used by print shops and designers for a long time is to use a "rich black", or rather a black with a good amount of black, red, yellow, and green. This type of black will appear to be more deep because of this addition. Kind of counter intuitive to put yellow in black paint but it works! Even if you don't like Behr paint, check out their "Black Suede" color as it is a great rich black.
