Best primer over orange peel texture?

A fire sprinkler company was doing a recall on our sprinklers and had to cut a 1.5 foot square hole in one of my ceilings. So the drywall repair is on them, but the drywaller will only do the repair and texturing. I have to do the priming and painting over the texture.

So, what's the best primer to use over orange peel, and under a Benjamin Moore eggshell top coat? A Zinsser product? Benjamin Moore First Coat? Does it depend on whether the texture is water-based or oil-based?

Most any good quality primer will work, just be sure to do the WHOLE ceiling not just the patch.

First Coat, Fresh Start, the Zinsser products, and premium Sherwin Williams primers are all good choices
