best paint for outdoor wood table (stain resistance)?

I have an outdoor wood table for the backyard that is painted white.
Over the years, the paint has become stained from bird droppings and other outdoor contaminants, where even scrubbing with a bleach solution didn't get the table entirely clean.
A few weeks ago I decided to repaint the table with a can of white spray paint. It came out really nice but now again it's starting to get stained by outdoor contaminants (most likely bird dropping residue).

I'm sure many will recommend to paint the entire table another darker color so stain's won't show. Before I do this, I'm wondering if there is something I should look for in an outdoor paint (spray or brush-on) that would resist permanent stains from outdoor contaminants.

thanks

Spray paint is definitely not the way to go. I'd suggest you scuff it, prime it, and go with a good quality gloss paint (I'm not going to argue brand names here). There is no such thing as perfect, when it comes to stuff like bird poop with mulberries, but gloss paint will probably be your best bet.

If your current wood table top is flat enough, and after paint dries completely, you could try using a glass table top made to size. The bird poop can be cleaned off glass. Tossing horse shoes in the direction of a glass topped table might be a problem.:)

.. a picnick table cloth might be a little safer, and cheaper.

Bird droppings with berries, purple droppings, permanently stained my car's clear coat, twenty five years ago, when paint was paint. Good Luck. Move the table.
