I have used Pittsburgh to paint walls but not as a stain. If the stain is as good as the paint then I would have no problem recommending it. But I used Cabot and can only really comment on that.
No. I have yet found a semi trans stain that can beat Cabot's 550 voc 0300 semi trans series. A tried and tested product, Cabot's higher voc stains are bar none, the best in the American market, with Sikkens close behind. http://www.cabotstain.com/pdf/STRN0300.pdf
